“All the baptized need to understand that part of their duty regarding the Liturgy is to accept some responsibility for the Liturgy, to place themselves and their God-given talents at the service of the liturgical community whenever possible."
The word “liturgy” comes from the Greek word leitourgia which means “work of the people.” As Catholics, we use the word “liturgy” to refer to the celebration of the Mass, the center of our faith life. Together, as a church family, we are called to participate in the liturgy through our prayer, song and spoken responses at Mass. Some of us feel called to serve at Mass as liturgical ministers. Our liturgies at St. Mary’s couldn’t be successful without our parishioners sharing their time and talent with our parish community!
Do you feel called to participate more fully in the Mass as a liturgical minister? New disciples to serve Christ and our parish in this vital ministry are always welcomed!
Please contact the church office by email or by phone if you would like to learn more about serving in any of the liturgical ministry positions listed below.
Being a welcoming community is very important and ushers are the first face of our parish. They greet those coming into our church, offer assistance to those in need, distribute parish bulletins, take up the collection and distribute other materials as needed.
